We, of the Sarahi staff, wish it known that any successes we may have achieved with this record of our high school days are due in no small part to Mr. Bohm, whose constant cooperation and ready appreciation were the prop and spur to all our efforts 2 3 3 53 llalilii me 'vnu-'Q Four years ago, against odds that can-be appreciated only by those who have surmounted them, Carolyn Slcoog and Marv Blaslte flower rightj brought out the Hrst issue of the SARAHI with Carolyn accomplishing the titanic task of assembling the book, and .Xlarv tak- ing care of the finances. The next year, Mary lfllen Kardash and Phyllis Reincrt qtop left and rightj divided the editorial chores and added the padded cover. Last year, editor jean Nierengarten flower lefty introduced a number of innovations, giving a fresh appeal to the book and opening the way for more experimentation. WOLTERS ullarryax Baseball 3g Intramurals 3 Senior Class History One of the smaller classes of the past sev- eral years, the class of '51 has nevertheless set up a enviable record in school achievement. As seniors we are especially proud of this, our yearbook, and our spring roduction of Rip Van Winkle as well as or our part in the purchase of the new stage cyclorama, which we did in co-operation with the classes of '48 and '50, Our class has been chiefly noted for its competence in completing any task to which it was committed. ln September of 1947, 58 strong, started as freshmen in the Russell junior High. After a get acquainted program, we elected Leona Koepp our president. We had our share of representation on the Student Council with one of our classmates, Bonnie Case, acting as pres- ident. Our projects were many during the vear. Our biggest celebration was a Valentine Party at which time we chose as king and queen, Reinhard Hoaglund and Bonnie Case. Entering the Senior High we were caught in the twirl of growing up, feeling a little awkward at first. We started our Sophomore vear by naming Bonnie Case our leader. Under her management V alentine's Day was cele- brated again, this time with an all-school party. For the Homecoming activities we placed Bonnie Case and june Curtis as attendants to the queen. Durin our junior Year under the leader- ship of Del-ioy Orlowski, we progressed in the high school. Leona Koepp was the junlor Homecoming attendant. Delrose Bergstrasser received the honor of being elected to Girls' State and the junior-Senior Prom was one of the outstanding social events of the year. Outstanding in sports among our class- mates were Rog Swalbowski, Delroy Orlowski, and Reinhard Hoaglund. At Homecoming time we chose Shirley Kosloske to rein over our activities, with her 3 senior attendants as: Bonnie Case, Eleanore l.ezer, Leona Koepp. To head the Student Council in our junior year we chose Donald Partch to see that the school had some organi- zation. With these few parting words we hope to enjoy the future as much as we have enjoyed the past. LAURENCE GREGOR Hall of Fame MARY ANN GERMANN BONNIE CASE The Annual HALL OF FAME ns chosen by the teachers and a select group of students. This year Mary Ann Germann came in first place with Bonnie Case next on the list. Closely following with highest choice were Lloyd Keehr and Roger Swalboski. LLOYD KEEHR ROGER SWALBOSKI , 'nw 'l AM! A155 ,fqfkfaly As the largest class to occupy the high school in the past several years the Class of '52 gives promise of being one of the outstanding graduate groups of this institu- tion. There were early evidences of this promise when as Freshmen we promoted a gratifyingly successful magazine drive and purchased a movie projector with the proceeds. Tom Baker was our class president and Tom Baker and Rhea Koepp were chosen King and Queen, for the annual Valentine's Day party. The year's end picnic at Municipal Park was wet but successful. Getting adjusted to the 'Kbig school was our main problem as sophomores, but with jim jahn as our Class president and with Lou Bolinski, Edris Bjorklund, and june Keopp to assist him. Our class came through with considerable success, sharing with upperclassmen the credit for a very successful extra-curricular year. Shirley Petron represented the class in the Homecoming Coronation pageant. As juniors we numbered 80, the largest class of the three. Elections of class officers brought Lou Bolinski to head our class. jo Ann Poganski and june Keopp were chosen Vice-President and Secretary-Treasurer. To begin the year we sponsored a get-acquainted dance to raise funds for our class treasury. At Homecoming time we chose Edris Bjorklund as attendant to the Homecoming Queen. For our junior class play we chose Stage Door and also participated in many activities, such as speech, debate, one-act plays and also placed many of our athletics on the football and basketball teams. With the help of Miss Allen, Mr. Ashley, and Mr. Bense we worked with the other students to make our school a better place and with that thought we are looking forward to our Senior year with great confidence. High to star' their Freshman year. They began their first year in High School by electing jack Ryan, President of the class and joanne Erstad represented the Frosh as President of the Student Council. To keep the year from getting dull and monotonous, many extra curricular activities such as the Dramatic, Craft, and Press Clubs were successfully organized under the direc- tion of the faculty. The yearly Valentine Party was climaxed by the election of Queen Mar- jorie Harrington and King Milton Monnier.
