Z — Man At Z —104 Brad Zeman. When you hear that name what do you think of? Humorous situations, self confidence, weirdness, or like, a total rager man''? All of the above seem to describe Brad. Maybe that's what motivated him to try his hand at D.J.ing. On September 24, 1987,Brad Zeman, his girlfriend, Rachel Grunewald, Cheryl Frommung (yearbook member), and I traveled to the popular and much listen- ed to Z — 104 radio station in Madison. On this Thursday night. Brad was going to appear as a guest Z — jay, doing the High Five at 10:00, and be heard by all of southern Wisconsin. It all started when Rachel sent in a letter to Fletcher Keyes, the usual Thursday night D.J., and explained that Brad was the Z — man and he'd be perfect as a Z — jay. To Brad's total suprise and shock, (he totally flipped) Fletcher Keyes call- ed Brad and invited him to come and spin the records . Fletcher Keyes wasn't there that night, but Dave Anthony,(another D.J.) gave us the grand tour and helped Brad through the 15 minutes of air time. All in all, with the exception of some nerves. Brad did a superb job. It took a lot of guts to go on the air for a well — known radio station. I'm sure he'll remember it forever; I know I will. Good Job Brad, you made Sauk Prairie proud! Written by: Tanya Cutler Dave Anthony gives Brad Zeman a pep talk before he goes on the air as guest Z — jay. Dave Anthony shows Brad the equipment he'll be using. Brad psyches himself up before he begins the High — Five at Z — 104. 2 — Z-104 Feature Story
