SAUK PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL PRAIRIE DU SAC, WISCONSIN auk Prairie High School prides itself in its students and their Iutstanding contributions to it and the community. Sauk Prairie High School was started December 18, 1962, after an approval was signed April 12, 1962. The school was completed I» February 1964 at a cost of $1,919,722.43- At the time, Ynrollment was 714 students with 44 faculty members. The swimming pool was constructed and adjoined to the gymnasium In 1967. Our present enrollment is 716 students with 60 facul- ty members. Changes in curriculum allowed students oppor- tunities for Vocational courses as well as academic courses. 1970, with the WlAA ruling, brought us a very large number of persons participating in athletics. The ruling required public schools to provide girls the same opportunities for participating in sports as boys. The ruling brought about our outstanding girls program to add to our excellent boys program. In 1973, Sauk Prairie High School presented its first all-school musical. As an instant hit, the musical became one of the highlights of the ex- tracurricular activities available for students. Indeed, we are a school of champions not only on athletic turf, but on the stage as well.
