Prom May 12, 1964 Prom is olwoys rhe highrlighr of rhe spring season, and 1984 wos no different. The Class of '85 srorred preparing eorly for rheir prom, ond pur much rime, planning, and hard work into making rhe big event o success. The rheme song for rhe 1984 Junior Prom wos Almost Paradise from rhe movie FOOTLOOSE, and rhe colors for rhe donee decorations were pink ond gray. As rhe big day began ro get closer, everyone srorred gerring excited and counting down rhe days ril May 12, rhe doy of prom. One of rhe major sreps in gerring ready for prom is picking rhe courr, which rhe junior doss accomplished well ahead of rime. The juniors voted on rhe boys rhey would like ro see on prom courr, ond rhen, in rurn, rhey asked rheir female companions. On Friday, Moy 11, rhe courr (Fred Pererson G Roxanne Pieper, Sreve Wollersheim G Rhonda Koffornus, Randy Wonkerl Jenni Schmir, Lee Kosrroski Cindy Frey, Joel Hoolss Annyo Eilerrson, Paul Endres Jodi Lamberry, Rich Bonjour Lyn Schwarz, Jeff Young Krisri Niemi) wos introduced ro rhe srudenr body or on ofrernoon assembly. Thor doy, afrer school, rhe juniors began decorating rhe commons, and worked lore inro rhe nighr. The nexr day rhey were up and ar ir again early, and, by Sarurday ofrernoon, ir was hard ro recognize rhe commons. In keeping with rhe rheme of Almost Paradise , palm trees adorned rhe backdrop. Signs covered rhe rrophy cases, and pink and gray crepe paper and balloons were everywhere. The dance starred ar 9:00 wirh rhe grand march ar 11:00. Ar rhor rime, rhe 1984 Junior Prom Courr was once again introduced. Joel Hooks and Annya Eilerrson served as Master and Mistress of Ceremonies, and Paul Endres and Jodi Lamberry were crowned King ond Queen. The band, rhe Cheerers, starred ro play again and everyone danced rhe nighr away.
