Civic Consciousness. Social intelligence, and Leadership development. During the year the DECA Club strived to learn more about Marketing and Distribution by attending District and State Competition as well as participating in a civic consciousness project. Sheela Raschein. I’m GRETE LARSEN from Norway. Where I have lived there most of my life. The city I live in is called Hokksund. which has about 1000 people in it. In many ways it reminds me of Sauk City. The school is different. Here the student goes from class to class, at home we (the students) stays in one classroom, and the teachers “run” around. Each class concists of about 30 stu- dents. So when you get out of school (9th grade) you have 30 really good friends. We also can’t choose what ever we want, most are required. After High School you can take a test. If you pass with a good enough grade you may enter college. So far I have really enjoyed my stay in Sauk City. I enjoy the small differences that I find. I’m MESUDE MEREY from Bursa. Turkey. Bursa is in the Northwest and 3 hours to Istanbul, the biggest City in Turkey. Sauk Prairie is really dif- ferent city with a population of 1,500.000. But I really like it here. We usually don’t change classes except labs and Phy Ed. Instead teach- ers rotate and we have 10 minutes between each class. In spite of the great differences. I like the school here. My hometown’s climate is a lot dif- ferent than Wisconsin. We don’t have a lot of snow and 4 or 5 inches of snow is a lot. It hardly ever falls below 32 F. I think most of the Ameri- can people are really friendly and interested in different countries. I really enjoyed my visit to the United States and sometime I really would like to have my friends come over to Turkey to visit me. 129 BADGER BOYS GIRLS: Herbie Yanke. Adrienne Yost. Paul Gruber.
