LOOKING INTO THE FUTURE MR. GORDON WITZ Guidance Awards Banquet College Day FT A Wisconsin State College Eau Claire M.Ed. Our guidance counselors, Mr. Witz and Mr. Ness, have spent a busy year in helping students to plan for the future. They have supervised meetings, scheduled guidance programs, and provided information about job opportunities. A conference was held with each student to discuss plans for col- lege, vocational opportunities, or his schedule for next year. Mr. Ness and Mr. Witz also planned a College Day, devoted to aiding students in choosing the college they wish to attend. Representatives from state universities and from some out-of-state colleges were in- vited to describe their schools to the students. 18

CONTEMPLATING The field of science is advancing at a very rapid rate. Our science facilities have given stu- dents an opportunity to learn about the world around us. New techniques in the teaching of science have been used this year, enabling the stu- dents to learn by experimentation supplemented by reading. The highlight of the year was the science fair, presented in the spring. Each student of chemistry and Biology I made and exhibited a project. These left-overs from Halloween sure get in people's hair, screams Joanne to Cathy and Steve in Advanced Biology. MR. CARL SIMONSON Biology Conservation Club Wis. State Univ. Platteville MR.
