ONE ACT PLAY BOOK - LOVERS In this spritely comedy of youth, the helpful young librarian, Miss Scott, played by Beverly Blum, finds new demands being made on her services. Young Johnny, played by Chuck Hall, and Esther Mae, played by Jackie Raba, have had a lovers quarrel. Johnny goes to the library convinced that he is off women for life, however Johnny finds small comfort in books. Esther Mae and her girl friend Carrie, played by Judy Hicks, happen into the library. Johnny has the happy inspiration to court the pretty librarian. BASKETBALL Sauk finished second in league play this year. One of the biggest upsets of the season for Sauk was the defeat of Waunakee. Although Sauk is a small team they did their share of rebounding. During die season some fine displays of shooting were shown by the team Six seniors were on the squad with four playing regularly. In the science club many phases of science which challenge the student are studied and observed. The camera club has as its function the training in taking and developing good pictures. SCIENCE CLUB WRESTLING Wrestling is a relatively new sport at Sauk High. This is the third year and we had only four returning lettermen on the twenty man team. We are very proud of our team, although their record is not the best, because with a little experience these young men will prove themselves to be very good wrestlers. Pretzel any one? RUDY'S l.G.A. - After Mr. Gohlke left us, Mrs. Abney took over direction of the band, led us through our Christmas Concert, and remained with us until our present director, Mr. Reinhardt arrived. The band practiced very hard for the Christmas Concert. All the work paid off because the concert was a huge success. Practice makes perfect. Students are offered an insight into the problems and workings of the occupations and enjoyments of these two fields of work. Throught the teachers club students receive credit for projects which follow the planning and de- velopment of teachers programs. BASEBALL The sports on this page are spring sports. Many of our athletes take part in both sports, doing very well. The W. I. A. A holds it's subregional baseball tournaments at Sauk which gives the student a chance to see some fine baseball played. The Future Farmers of America, or FFA as it is commonly known, is the national organization of, by, and for, boys studying vocational agriculture in public high school. Among other things, members learn how to conduct and take part in public meetings; to speak in public, to buy and sell co-operatively, and to assume civic responsibility. The foundation upon which the Future Farmers of America organiza- tion is built, includes leadership and character development, sportsmanship, cooperation, scholarship, improved agriculture, citizenship and patriotism.
