SCHORER DEDICATION Because of his many kindnesses to the youth of our community and as a gesture of appreciation to him for the many valuable gifts he has presented to our school, we are proud and happy to dedicate this 1960 Sauk Log to Mr. William C. May every individual in the two villages seriously consider the facts and judge the merits of the issues presented free from emotional prejudices in order that the youth of these two communi- ties and those of the contiguous area may not be deprived of their rightful heritage--an opportunity to get the best possible education in the free public school of their own community. Unlike what we expected, we all had an enjoyable time. Our Freshman year was an exciting year because everything was so new, and different. Class officers were elected with Lloyd Meyer taking over duties as President; Anita Meyer; Vice President; Jack Walsh, Secretary; and Eddie Miller as Treasurer. Sixty-eight former Freshmen returned as Sophomores. The number of classmates remained the same although some changes occurred. As sophomores we were given the chance to initiate the Freshmen. Our biggest thrill came at the end of the school year when we ordered our class rings. Jill Schroeder was elec- ted President, Wallace Breunig, Vice President; Secretary, Martin Ballweg and Harry Messer was elected Treasurer our Sophomore year. Our Junior year started off with the electing of class officers. Lloyd Meyer was elected President as well as our Prom King. Jill Schroeder took office as Vice President, Verna Pape, Secretary and Earl Lochner, Treasurer. Our Junior year was the big fund raising year for us. We held a car wash, numerous candy sales and a couple bake sales. One of our first accomplishments as upperclassmen was the winning of first place with our Home- coming Float. Even more exciting was our one-act-play Sunday Costs Five Pecos” which took an A rating at our local contest and went on to get an A rating at the league contest, but we received a B rating at the district contest. Early in February we started to work on our Junior Prom which was to be held on the 15th of May. We decided in ISLE OF DREAMS as the theme and carried it out by decorating the auditorium in an Oriental setting with clouds of cherry blossoms and Japanese lanterns. King Lloyd Meyer and Queen Anita Meyer led the Grand March. Our representative to Badger Boys’ State during our Junior year was Kurt Piernot. Jill Schroeder represented Sauk High at Badger Girls’ State this year. Of course, the year we’ll remember the longest is our Senior year. We have reached the Senior year with fifty-eight students remaining in the class. Class officers this year were kept very active with all our Senior activities. In October we had our Senior Class pictures taken and we received them at Christmas time. We also ordered announcements and call cards. Harvest Moon” was the theme for Homecoming this year with Tom Enders as King and Sheila Grau- vogl as Queen. In April, our Senior class play, “Come Out Of The Closet”, was held. In May we went on our Senior class trip. It was an experience most of us will never forget. We went to Chicago and stayed at the Sherman Hotel. After our class trip final exams and our Senior Banquet were held. Commencement on the 25th of May was the final event for us at Sauk High. We will cherish in our hearts and minds the memories of these four years at Sauk City High School. SAUK CANNING COMPANY JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS President - Jim Enders Vice-President - Darlene Johnson Secretary - Kathy M. Ganser Treasurer - Russ Loper The Juniors now are big and brave, they walk the halls so proudly. They're so considerate to the teachers, and they never speak profoundly. Their homework seems to come so easy, but they always get it done. To their school they are alert, they love to dance and have fun. The Juniors are at all the games, they're there and how they cheer. With the Juniors in this school, we have not a thing to fear. ROW ONE: L. Ballweg, K. A. Ganser, A. Mack, B. Reuter, G. Mack, B. Frey. D. Johnson. ROW TWO: K. M. Ganser, H. Breunig, J. Haas, A.
