FRESHMAN CLASS OFFICERS PRESIDENT - Tom Arnold VICE-PRESIDENT - Jean Baier TREASURER - David Fritz SECRETARY - Nadine Breunig On September 2, 1958, a group of NOT-SO-BRAVE Freshmen entered the grounds of Sauk High. On the first day of our presence among all these students we were acquainted with PART of the custom of initiating newcomers. We were also warned that the worst was yet to come. INITIATION! It wasn't as bad as we had expected, but it wasn't good either. We ended up carrying the Sophomores' books, reciting poetry to them, and worst of all, wearing their silly costumes and performing their stunts at the party in the evening. On the whole we all had a lot of fun and we gave the Sophomores a return party later in the year. Allen Van Keuren and Roger Frosch were elected to represent our class on the Home- coming Court. The name of our class float for the Homecoming parade was Practice Makes Perfect. In November our class one-act play, Let's Make Up, placed second in our school competition. We had a lot of fun doing this play and we hope to put on another successful play next year. We have spent most of our first year here at Sauk High getting acquainted with everything and we are eagerly waiting for our Sophomore year so we can really get down to business and make our four years in high school successfuL
