MARILYN CRAPSER Editor SAUK LOG-1958 LOUIS SETZKE Photographer KAREN LAUGHNAN Assistant Editor EDWARD SLEGER Advisor im t FRANCIS LANG Assistant Editor Sauk City High School Sauk City, Wisconsin OUR SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL These are trying times. Our educational institutions, particularly our high schools, are under fire. The Space Age , so it is said, finds our youth critically unprepared to cope with the problems they face. A Sputnik launched by an un- friendly country has caused this furor. Let us not panic. Rather let us remember that to live successfully in this age of spaceships our citizens will need broad and thorough training in many fields of learning. Our country has become great because of our free schools, and we have every reason to believe that it will continue to lead the world only when freedom to choose, and freedom to seek the truth shall be the guaranteed right of every citizen.
