The national F.F.A. was organized in November, 1928. The Sauk City Chap- ter was organized in 1938, was dropped during the war years, and was reorgan- ized in 1950 For the fourth year the local chapter sponsored the Vitality Seed sale receiving 205? of the sales and if the chapter made its goal each salesman got 105? of his sales. The rain stopped long enough for the band to lead the parade downtown with King Jack Fassbender and Queen Deanna Caflisch, their court, and the floats of the classes and organizations. The winning floats were first: Heartbreak for Verona, by the senior class; second: the sophomore's It's an Udder Cinch We'll Beat Verona. This Ain't No Bull ; tied for third: Sauk's Harvest by the FFA, and the freshman class with their Rock Around the Clock. At the pep rally preceding the game the dummy was set afire, the band started pep songs, and the cheerleaders led the cheers hoping to inspire Sauk to a Homecoming victory. Everyone wandered toward the field waiting for the kick-off which was at 7:30. A very spirited first half ended with Sauk 12 and Verona 0. Sauk fought hard but not quite hard enough to stop the Verona attack. Verona won Ik to 12. When the band played The Star Spangled Banner, the lights were off with a spotlight on the flag and suddenly a rocket full of stars fell to the earth. At halftime the band marched on the field to the tune of Auld Lang Syne and formed HI to all alumni of Sauk High. A big SC and V were formed saluting the two high schools. To the accompaniment of the drum cadence the band formed a big heart for Queen Deanna to enter. After playing The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi, Dan Cupid got his hand on the bow string and shot Queen Deanna off the field. For the dance, the theme, Indian Summer was tastefully carried out in the auditorium decorations with silhouettes, colored leaves, footballs, and cornshocks. Clif Gomon furnished the music for the dance. The court of honor was Allan Hamilton and Joan Stoffels, Gary Sorg and Gloria Grauvogl, Louis Breunlg and Judy Schara, Gary Zeigler and Sandy Strieker, Jim Breunlg and Anita Werla, Jim Rauls and Ruth Ann Uselman. Paul Patterson, a co-captain, crowned Jack as King and he in turn crowned Deanna as his Queen. Sponsor; CAFLISCH OIL COMPANY Wm. The lecturer begins by in- troducing his subject and the characters who have kindly arranged to illustrate his lectures. In the first scene Henrietta and Algernon are presented as a young couple Just engaged and very much in love. They are looking forward to a rosy and romantic future. Two years later we find them coming home from a party quarreling bitterly. The lecturer then orders them to relive a scene of their courtship days. In the final scene Henrietta is a nagging wife and Algernon is constantly heckled by the members of her family. The play ends with an enraged Hen- rietta hurling dishes at Algernon. This scene clear ly indicates why the lecturer prefers being a bach- elor. r f !?(! .
