Robert J. Munnelly Superintendent of Schools TO THE CLASS OF 1969: As the chief administrator of schools during your Senior year, one of my genuine pleasures will be to join with you in the many activities that bring your Saugus school career to a close. This is the year that you reap the rewards and praise for the long years of hard and honest effort. Honors and glory, awards and commendations will come to you as individuals and as members of teams. You will be justifiably proud of your own accomplishments. Another group, though, will bask in the glow of your achievements. Your teachers from ele- mentary and junior and senior high school, the principals of these schools, the custodians, clerks and cafeteria workers who serve you without your knowledge of their efforts— these people have been following your career to this point and will continue to keep track of you through the sports pages, the society pages and the headlines in the years ahead. They are proud of you. They know that you and your generation will be the leaders in the 21st Century. It is their wish that you have the knowledge and skill to build a better world than this one you inherit from older generations. The awards and honors that you will garner in Senior year activities provide a sense of hope and a feeling of confidence to those of us who staff the schools and who were part of your early education.
