History Mighty Totem, tell your story, What each image speaks of life; Tell the past which one records here Historic tale of four bright years. Lowest creature hold high the pole Signifying freshman days — New annex wing, all-purpose room, Accelerated science course, Full day of school and staggered lunch, Science fair postponed by fire, Foreign language and first book fairs, And avoidance of senior stares ! Well speaks the next haughty keeper Of some cherished sophomore times. Underclassmen, but one year older, We greeted Mr. Davis and Bid farewell to Mr. Porter. With two-platoon we once again Adjusted to shifting classes, Corridors of teeming masses. Rising proud above these two, the Guardian of the junior past Recalls a nation ' s grief and days Marred by burdens from the fires, Yet lightened by our winter sports And junior prom, Bali-Hai, Donkey basketball, added shares In assemblies and school affairs. Giant of these mighty figures Boasts the height of senior life — The final rallies and Color Day, Triumphant victories in sports, College Boards and applications, The Miracle Worker, Washington, Senior Week with its laughter, tears As graduation closed these years. Mighty Totem, your tale at last Becomes the glory of the past. 20 ,. ' t , —.1

CLASS COLORS: Mar ALMA MATER nd White 1 praises sing to red and white, And let our banner fly, For we are proud and we are true As we hail Saugus High. O marching ever onward, We shall forever see How great the lesson we have learned, How firm that loyalty That bids us raise a cheer today O Saugus High for thee ! Your walls are made of brick and stone Perhaps, in time will fall, But lasting friendships formed within Shall tower over all, Shall ever be a monument To trust and brotherhood, Shall stand forever for the right Forever for the good. And so we sing this song today O Saugus High to thee! ■ r
