4 Prologue

At Saugatuck High School, despite the size of the student body, we have many achievements both academically and athletically. Exellence shows through in many areas. Scholastically we compete in the Science Olympiad, Model U.N.. Forensics, Quiz Bowl, and the Math competition. We put on a first-rate theatrical performance ev- ery year and support departments such as band, art, home-economics and industrial arts. We also have a high percentage of college-bound stu- dents. Last year 75% of the seniors went on to receive further education.- In athletics we compete against many schools and there are three showcases displaying our ac- complishments. Even though our teams don’t necessarily win state championships we do re- ceive many regional honors. The biggest part though, is we are always striving for improve- ment. Hard work pays off for we now have seven Saugatuck graduates that are playing varsity sports in college. Prologue 3
