Though we didn't have a totally successful homecoming in some aspects, we did enjoy it for all of its warmth and excitement. And when it was over, it ended with wrinkled programs, de- tached streamers, and wel- come sighs of relief. Stuntmen 11 1. There were many close games, however, and within the season many highlights. One such highlight was the 64 yard run by Bob Winter in the game against Allendale. Sophomore Winter, along with Sophomore Joe Lane and Brad Fries, will be joining the mighty varsity next year. Out- standing defense players were Joe Lane and Todd Tyler. All around players were Bob Winter 1. and Joe O'Brien. 16 Stuntmen I u 1. Team Top left to right. Asst Coach Mark Bekken. George Saip. Head Coach George Vuillemont. Gerard Manthy. Brian Baldiga. Matt Tiffany, a Senior, joined the Varsity squad and was able to spark spirit in otherwise unpar- ticipatory students. The other cheerleaders spread enthusiasm through color- ful posters and routines. It was also a great help to have a winning team to cheer for! So, three cheers for the cheerleaders - they deserve it. 1 The Varsity squad leads the crowd in the Orange and Blue 2 Symbols of our squads - the headdress, megaphone and pompons. 3 The JV Cheerleaders starting from the left: Julie Morse. Garth Zommermaand. for one, was very successful in the mile and 2 mile runs - he ran all the way to State. Records were broken by Shelly Thias, Cathy Eichler, and the Girls mile relay team Next years pro- spects look good - only 1 team member is graduating, and the up and coming freshmen look talented. The Most Valuables get cheered; the Most Improved get their backs patted. Parents and friends enjoy the glory their children or peers are basking in. Of course, each player is the most valuable in that the energy put forth makes them all number one. But it is necessary to chronicle the absolute best, which is precisely what the sports banquet does. 1 Chris Krafft is the recipient of the 1982 Commercial Record Award 2 The Most Improved Players: Mel Arnold, Basketball, BIB Wicks, Golf; Ann Grady, Girl's Basketball; Andrew Doucette, Track 3 The Most Valuable Players: Kevin Phillips.
