Parents go to school Parents were given three opportunities to go back to school'' this past fall. The primary school held its open house on September 29, the intermediate school on October 1, and the junior high on October 8. The evening sessions allowed parents to view student-prepared displays and meet with their children's teachers. Parents found that one student in Mrs. Hibrawi's class (top) worried himself to the bone. Mrs. Jacir (top) explains the Arabic program for intermediate students to parents. Fire safety week held On October 9, 1871, the “Great Chicago Fire” leveled that city and left 100,000 people homeless. Mow the United States and Canada observe Fire Prevention Week at that time each year. SAIS-R primary classes also observe this week. Students learn about fire safety, and they have a chance to ride a real fire truck!
