... a place to grow Although students are likely to grow in stature while attending SAIS-R, they are even more likely to grow in other ways. At SAIS-R, the facilities, enrollment, and curriculum have grown over the past 22 years. Mew courses, such as mechanical drawing for junior high students and computer literacy for primary and intermediate students, reflect the attempt to meet students' changing needs. More than anything, though, as a result of attending an international school, students grow in understanding of other people and cultures — the value of which may be beyond measure. Tromping up and down stairs is a frequent activity for primary and intermediate students (right). Students from the primary and intermediate schools (below) move out at the sound of the bell. Nicole Gunderson and Dara Tilzey (below right) head for the buses after a tiring day. SAIS-R students rush for the buses. At the end of the school day comes the rush for the buses. Most of the 450 companies sending students to SAIS-R provide bus service. For others, private drivers and car pooling are necessary. But all rush when they hear the bell. 14 Student Life
