Suson Brosse Over sixry girls come our for this year's cheerleoding rryours. From those sixty, Mrs. Lenoghon (cooch) and Pomelo Reed chose twenty finalists who would perform in front of o panel of five judges. Twelve of those were picked to be the 1982-63 cheerleoding squod. Unlike recent years the ream included five seventh graders, two eighth graders and five ninth groders. Immediately after tryouts the new reom begon the stress and stroin of learning new cheers ond pom-pom routines before the first big weekend rournomenr. Few people realize oil that cheerleoding involves. The girls must leorn over seventy cheers ond chonrs jusr to survive one rournomenr. After that rournomenr they continue to leorn more ond more routines. There ore long exhausting practices to get everything just perfect. Their job is to generate the school spirit that every reom needs to be o winner. ANNA PARROTT takes o breother ro worch the A BREATHTAKING FORMATION is demonstrated during o lunchtime Eogles bottle the Jeddoh Falcons. mini-pep roily before sending the Eogles off to o bosketboil ond softboll tournoment in Dhohron.

The trock team held their big meet or Aramco. bringing home 35 ribbons between the 30 member ream. The boys' 400 meter reloy ond girls' 75 meter hurdles squad each brought home o first place ribbon. The Tennis ream hod o short bur successful season with owords given to Mott Bogoczyk ond Lourel Prince for the doubles competition in Khomis Mushoyt. Mr. Bruskos, cooch, soid he wos pleosed with the rolent he hod lost year ond hopes to see the some this yeor. The girls' sofrboll reom olso hod o good season taking second place in the kingdom-wide chompionship. The girls with the help of Mrs. Kenoghon ployed the season with on intense show of precision ond occurocy. Amy Thompson, one of the most remarkable shortstops in the kingdom received on all-star oword for her obiliry in fielding ond batting. The boys' basketball reom hod o record of 11-5 which consisted of o breoth-toking victory over Jeddoh ond two overtime victories or Dhohron. Mott Bogoczyk led the team in scoring with 15 points per gome. Romzi Khoury led the reom in rebounds with 10.9 rebounds per gome ond Sherief Ibrohim come in second for both scoring ond rebounding. The boys brought home o respectable second place for oil-kingdom. Mott Bogoczyk ond Sherief Ibrohim received oll-srar owords for performance ond contribution to their team.

Although the players and coach. Borry Sprott, felt thot they should hove done better, they were pleosed with their performance. There were 2 regulor season tournoments with 4 motches being ployed In Jeddoh ond 5 ployed ot Dhohron Acodemy.
