With o ren foot Puff the Magic Drogon os a bockdrop. 180 Kindergarten children of 32 notions received their first groduotion dlplomos. Proud parents, heavily equipped with comeros, watched os special songs were sung ond owords were presented. Speciol recognition was given to E.S.L. children for their Important achievement in learning English ond to those students with perfect attendance. A speciol Hug of Wor poem wos read ond o signed yearbook wos presented by Mlo Tolvonen, Tobias Cubing, Rebecca Mossey ond Allison Thomos to yearbook advisor Don LoCoscio. Mrs. Undo Loft ond the ECE staff did o wonderful job in organizing ond putting on the commencement. The competition wos intense during lost Spring's Track ond Field Doy. Girls generally outdid the boys in running events such os the 60 m, 100 m ond the 600 m Dosh. In throwing events like sofrboll ond discus the boys scored significontly higher thon the girls. At the High Jump, Hurdles ond Running Long Jump the scores were extremely close. Orgonlzed by Mrs. Morionne Sibley, the doy went very well os foculty members helped to officiate in the many events. Special owords were given our to oil the winners that afternoon. Although sixth graders domlnored the 1982 Elementary Field Doy, the going will be o little rougher os they become port of the junior high in the 1983 season. PROPER LONG JUMP technique te demonstrated by Julie Nlcholos os dossmotes look on. Toe Yoon hod the best long Jump of the doy of 4.06 meters. FANS CAN HARDLY contoln themselves during on exciting moment In the Hurdle event. Sixth groders hod to leap six hurdles set ot three the length of o basketball court. 19

NO LONGER NINTH GRADERS, grodoores relax after the ceremony or a SANG party. The porty was hosted and decorated by porents of the graduates. Commencement exercises for Riyadh International Community School's lost groduoting class under thor name rook place on June 6, 1982. It wos held ot the Intercontinental Hotel or 7:30 p.m. Bryon Rowlings, Choirmon of the RICS Board of education wos the commencement speaker. The welcome uddtess wos given by Comillo Terwilliger, Solutororion. Another Solutororion, Heather Engsrrom addressed the closs wth the rifle RICS - A World within Reach”. Voledictorion for KKIAS wos K.W. Ching. She delivered o speech os well os Khurois School Voledictorion, Anito Grenoger. Mogoli Posch wos honored by receiving the oword for outstanding citizenship ond Emily Rogers wos presented the Veteran Student Award. 6= CAMILLA TERVILLIGER DELIVERS the Welcome Address” to the 156 groduotes The Ninth Grode Closs wos represented by 20 nationalities. Ninth grode is the highest grode provided for by expotrtote schools in Saudi Aroblo. 21
