Most rivers flow along smoothly, but in some cases, a river reaches a point where it begins to descend. This point of descention causes the river to spill over, and in spilling, a waterfall is created. The river plunges over the side carrying with it-everything in its path and creates a thing of beauty. The school year came after a summer of relaxation and descended upon us like a waterfall of excitement. Various events sometimes made our lives hectic, but without them, we would have been fac- ed with a year of boredom. As if caught up in a river that begins to descend, it was hard not to plunge into the many activities. And. like a waterfall increases a river's beauty, our lives were enhanc- ed by continuous involvement.
