Students always find Mr. Faulk available to help them with personal problems, school conflicts, and plans for school activities. TABLE OF CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION-FACULTY.............. 8 ACTIVITIES...........................22 ATHLETES............................ 80 STUDENTS............................102 ADVERTISEMENTS......................168 SEEKING OF THE RINGING OF BELLS... FACULTY TOP EXECUTIVE COMPLETES THIRD YEAR Mr. Robert E. Faulk After receiving his B.S. Degree from Livingston State College, Mr. Faulk earned his M.A. Degree from George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. He began his teaching career as a coach at Millport High. After two years at Millport Mr. Faulk transferred to Vigor High School. In his twelve years at Vigor Mr. Faulk served as a teacher, head baseball coach, football line coach, and Assist- ant Principal. He then served as Principal of Tol- minville Junior High School until 1963 when he became Principal of Satsuma. As a former coach, Mr. Faulk takes a keen interest in the athletic program. One of the tedious Jobs of being principal is the large amount of paperwork that must be done. Dear Graduates: The Sixty-Six Cayman has been delivered. You have done a wonderful job in portraying school life. Congratulations to your staff and sponsor for a splendid piece of work! The excitement of graduation will soon be history. The discipline of school and home must give way to self-discipline. If you can shift gears and slide into the high of our twentieth century, you will succeed. The days of being told what to do must change to what-can-I do. What you leave behind will be a record of all you have accomplished during the years you have been in school. That record will speak for itself when businessmen and other schools inquire about you. Occupational standards are higher today than ever before, therefore, a greater percent of educated people are needed to occupy these positions in industry. Your financial status in this age is largely determined by your mental ability and the formal education which you have received. Graduation in itself is not success. It is only one step in gradual progress. Give of your best to the world and the best will come to you. Sincerely, R,£. R.E. Faulk Principal [ '1 1 ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL HAS MANY RESPONSIBILITIES Mr. Jack Gossett A graduate of Peidmont High School, Mr, Gossett received his B.S. That’s a miracle in anyone s book and yet that’s just what the South has done in 25 years In 1935, Southern forests contained 120 billion cubic feet of wood. Since then, 147 billion cubic feet have been harvested. But these forests still contain more than 131 billion cubic feet — nine per cent more wood now than before that mammoth harvest I-P is proud that its foresters played a key role in this miracle of reforestation. Now they are meeting new challenges — like managing timberland for such varied purposes as watershed protection, hunting, and public recreation or, using forest geneticists to develop improved strains of pines — or conducting complex economic studies in order to realize the greatest financial return from each acre of timberland This is truly modern forestry and it demands an ever-increasing number of college-trained men skilled in the latest technique of their profession INTERNATIONAL PAP R ■ M - • •• - • -v 4 •
