DaLena Wright Is Selected Queen Becky Miller Dana Mclver DaLena Wright, the senior candidate, was elected the 1978 Annual Queen. She was crowned by Aaron Sprunger, a member of the photography and annual staff. The queen was voted on from a list of four candidates, each representing a certain class. The juniors voted Becky Miller to represent them. Dana Mclver was the sophomore candidate. The freshman class selected Jody Decker. When a person purchased an annual they could cast their vote for queen from these four candi- dates. One vote per annual. The class favorites escorted the girls. The escorts were, Randy Tatro, freshman; Darin Haegert, sophomore; Rick Waggoner, junior; and Mark Mc- Donald, senior. Each candidate carried a white carnation tipped in red. The queen received a bou- quet of carnations. Jody Decker

Adelina Reigns As Homecoming Queen Karen Stapp, Freshman candidate Terrie Limon, Junior candidate Ida Garza, Sophomore candidate The week of homecoming was filled with many activities. Student Council was kept very busy planning these activities. To start the week, they took orders for homecoming mums. They were yel- low with green ribbons. Games scheduled during activity period provided fun for everyone. The games were: Monday, the wheel barrow race; Tuesday, was the peanut roll; Wednesday, students participated in the three-legged race; and Thurs- day, the classes competed against each other in the tug-of-war. Friday was dress-up day. Stuco also sponsored 1 'Miss Pretty Legs''. The contest was for all of the classes. The junior class won the contest with Kathy Rollins as their candi- date . There was a homecoming parade. The theme was Our Spirit Is Sky High''. The classes each deco- rated a float for their candidate to ride in. The ju- niors also won the competition. Their candidate was Terrie Limon. The crowning ceremony took place during the pre-game show. The band played the theme, I'll Play For You''. Adelina Trevino, escorted by Dirk Haegert, was crowned 1977-78 Homecoming Queen. She was the senior candidate. To conclude the evening, Stuco sponsored a DJ dance. It was held in the high school gym with John Deacon from KSCB radio station doing the an- nouncing . 9
