Girl’s Basketball Gets The Winning Feeling Lead by all-league selections of 74-75 Ardith Rooney and Chris Correll, the Satanta Indians Girl's Basketball team amassed a 21-3 record for the 75-76 season. Outstanding acheivements of the season included winning the Hi-Plains tournament held at Syracuse and tieing for first in regular season league play. The teamwork of varsity members Debbie Simpson, Nancy Preedy, and Billie Helton coupled with fine performances of Chris Correll and Ardith Rooney led the Indian Girls to first place in the Regional tournament at Holcomb. The girls returned the next week to take home second place honors in sub-state competition at Great Bend. The squad received fine supportive per- formances from the bench with Billie Miller and Diane Dennis, just a freshman, doing very well, As expressed by Coach Trail, in his first year at Satanta; The girls put together a program of which they may be very proud. We can attribute our success to our ability to play together, and more im- portantly, to get along together off the court, was how Sr. Chris Correll summed up this year's successful bas- ketball season. And most of that coop- eration was a direct result of com- munication and consideration between this year's seniors and the underclass- men on the squad.
