Flowers beside the path are springing. With their perfume, mem'ries bringing---- Thoughts of all those years gone by When we loitered, you and I, In the garden fair and sweet Of life's springtime, full, complete; Days in the long-ago, tis true. But Memory guides our steps anew. So, come with me and walk a way Down the Lane of Yesterday. Alice C. By this time the school has become very familiar to me and it is hard for me to imagine that I ever went to another one. However, without the memories, the many good friends, the great teachers, and not to for- get the fine Kayettes with Mrs. Niles, I wouldn't have made it without getting homesick. So, to everybody thanks. Also, I believe that hardly anywhere else in the U.S.A. would I have been able to learn as much about the modern cowboy or farmer and their way of life. My English improved a bunch since I came over here. The slang I picked up here I wouldn't be able to learn in any German English-Book. I hope you enjoyed me staying here. If you did, don't forget to come by when you are eventually in Germany. Within the next three years. See you maybe even here in Satanta or somewhere else. Indians Have Rough 1974 Football Season It's been a tough season but I think we've all gained something, was the way several of the players summed up this years 0-8 season. The season had proved to be a tough one with the offensive squad unable to score until late in the season. The only tally was against rival sublette. Satanta was able to boast a staggering defense which held HPL leader Syracruse to 22 points early in the sea- son. Fans will also see many of this years players return- ing as this seasons squad was largely composed of under- classmen. Santanta saw five seniors play this year. This season may be considered one of rebuilding. Although winning means alot the experience gained from not win- ning may next season prove to be the determining factor in having a winning season. Pat Rooney crowned her and she was escorted by Ted Col- lins. Her court included Sally McDonald escorted by Gary Kendall; Shawn Frey escorted by Terry Sprunger; and Adelina Trevino escorted by Mike Limon. SATANTA INSURANCE AGENCY RUSSELL WINTER PHYLLIS J. The season's record has not shown the gains made in attitude, skills, and general com- radeship that has been displayed in the 1974-75 basketball season. And with a quick glance at the returning letterman we can see a brighter future in store for S.H.S. Basketball. The Junior, Sophomore, and even the Fresh- men classes are producing a higher grade of athlete as the season continues. Now it is only a matter of developing this new talent. 38 Front Row L. to R.: Mike Limon, Bill Brown, Terry Sprunger, and Greg Fillpot. Back Row L. to R.: Coach Mc- Guire, Jim Lozar, J.R. Haegert, Superintendent TO: Students of Satanta Schools The patterns of population growth that are developing in our country seem to indicate some return to the rural, agrarian communities. To me, this is a very welcome and needed pattern. Perhaps you students who are now attending the Sa tanta Schools and those who have just graduated will seek further training and begin your vocations here in Satanta. The patrons of our community have shown the tre- mendous support they have given toward improving our schools facilities and curriculum offerings. The staff of U.S.D. No. 507 is currently planning many changes that should improve your opportunities as students. We hope and pray that your education will be the foundation for a successful life, whatever your vocational choice may be. Front Row L. To R.: D. Foster, M. McLain, G. Lightcap. Standing: A. And having perhaps the better claim. Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same. And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sign Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wook, and 100 I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. Robert Frost V 0rk We would like to thank our sponsor, Mrs. Stokes, the typists Tim Hill and Sylvia Cruz the photographers Logan Sprunger and Tim Hill, and everyone else who cooperated with us for this annual. Gary Kendall and Carolyn Lakin were the editors. We have come to the end of the Lane of Yesterday. The journey doesn't end here however. It continues on through the Present and into the Future. There are many roads that will take you into the Future. Some of these roads are well travelled; others are not. We, the editors, wish you the best of luck in choosing the right road toward happiness. V • V .« ' I . •• N « V .
