TOP LEFT: MRS. RUBY NILES: This is Mrs. Niles second year tea- ching in Satanta. She teaches Home Ec. I-IV, and sponsors Kay- ettes. She received her college education at Southwestern State, Oklahoma State, and Penhandle ASM, all in Oklahoma. Mrs. Niles and her husband Carl have 4 children and a foster son. She enjoys reading, sewing, and working with young people. TOP RIGHT: MRS. EDITH STOKES: Mrs. Stokes, has been teaching here at Satanta for 19 years. She teaches Typing I and II, Short- hand, and Bookkeeping, She is the Sponsor of the Chieftain, Arrow- head and Pep Club. She and her husband, Oscar, have one daughter, Jennifer. Mrs. Stokes enjoys reading. CENTER: MR. JERRY STONE: Mr. Stone attended Wichita State where he received his BME in Music. This year he is a Sophomore Class Sponsor and both grade and high school band instructor. Be- fore moving to Satanta, Mr. Stone taught in Cimarron. He and his wife Jill have a son, Joey, and a daughter, Jennifer, Mr. Stone enjoys hunting, fishing, and a variety of other sports. BOTTOM RIGHT: MRS ALTA WHITESELL: For her third year, Mrs. Whitesell is Vocal Music Instructor. She also is one of the Senior Class Sponsors. Mrs. Whiteshell graduated from Southwestern Col- lege at Winfield, She has done graduate work at both Wichita State and K-State. Mrs. Whitesell and her husband Bob have four children; Judy, Peggy, Rob and John. She enjoys needlework and watching television. BOTTOM LEFT: MR. CARL WILSON: Mr. Wilson who is completing his fourth year at Satanta, received his B.S. in Industrial Arts from Northwestern State College at Alva, Oklahoma. He teaches Mechan- ical Drawing, General Shop, and Woodworking I and III, besides being Freshman Sponsor. He and his wife Carol have two daughters Kim and Stacey, Mr. Wilson enjoys hunting and trap-shooting.

TOP LEFT: MR. SAM LEDESMA: Mr. Ledesma, a bachelor, re- ceived his BA in Spanish from Northwestern State in Alva. Before coming to Satanta to teach, Mr. Ledesma taught in Syracuse, Cimarron, Rolla and Liberal. Here at SHS he teaches Spanish in grades 4,5. and 6, and first year Spanish in High School. He is also one of the Senior Class sponsors. Mr. Ledesma enjoys read- ing and fishing. CENTER: MRS. ELIZABETH McCOOL: Mrs. McCool is our school Librarian this year. She graduated from Bethel College at North Newton, Kansas where she received her B. A. degree. Her grad- uate work was done at Kansas State University, Wichita State University, Emporia State University, and at the University of Colorado. Mrs. McCool and her husband, Frank, moved to Satanta from Pratt, Kansas. She enjoys collecting rocks and cookbooks, and she also enjoys traveling. BOTTOM LEFT: MR. P. G. McGUIRE: Mr. McGuire received his AB degree in Social Science from Northwestern State College at Alva, Oklahoma, He has done graduate work at Fort Hays State. This year Mr. McGuire is kept busy teaching Driver's Ed. , Amercian History, being our basketball coach, and one of the Junior Class sponsors. He and his wife, Oringa, who works in the school lunchroom, have three children, Nick, Pat, and Brenda. Mr. McGuire enjoys eating, drinking coffee, and ath- letics in any form. BOTTOM RIGHT: MR. DALE MOODY: Mr. Moody has his MA degree in psychology and guidance from Colorado State Uni- versity and his BS in natural science from Northwestern State in Alva. He has also done graduate work in Fort Hays. This year Mr. Moody teaches Biology and is the Councelor and Principal of SHS. This is Mr. Moody's fifth year at Satanta. He and his wife, Judy, have two sons Chad and Todd. Mr. Moody enjoys hunting and fishing.

MRS. BELTZ This has been Mrs. Beltz's third year as secretary of Satanta High School. With a cheerful attitude, Mrs. Beltz has performed her duties of keeping books, typing letters and reports, along with various other duties. MRS. McGUIRE, MRS. BOWEN, and MRS. ROLLINS Mrs. Bowen and Mrs. McGuire are completing their second year here at Satanta High School, and Mrs. Rollins is com- pleting her first. They are responsible for the well planned and well balanced meals we have each day. MR. UNGER and MR. SHIELDS This is Mr. Unger's fifteenth year at Satanta High School, and Mr. Shields fourth year. These men do a fine job of caring for the school grounds. Among their duties is watering and mowing the grounds, trimming the shrubs, and keeping the interior of the school clean. 12
