t Satanta, Kansas j£)edi tu icauon As a means of thanking Mr. Leonard Day for the years of hard work we wish to dedicate the Chieftain of 1953 to him. We are extremely grateful for his patience and goodwill at times when these characteristics were needed most. He has helped to make our school more enjoyable, and we hope that this volume will be a reminder of his years spent at Satanta High School. AND TO THE STUDENTS WE SAY: With the passing of time, the echoes of our school life will grow fainter and fainter, and then die away. Gone forever will be the routine of school life, the fun we had, and the friends we made. It is the hope of the 1953 Chieftain that, as you glance through this book in the years to come, you will recapture those moments—and the echoes will begin again. 2 Editor in Chief.
