SPORTS REVIEW By Ed Tronsgard BOWLING The 1961-62 season closed with a very successful ■ banquet and party. That season the S.P.N.A. donated a bowling trophy which was won by the top team, the Aces. This trophy will be awarded annually. An 18 team league during the first half of the 1962- 63 season is an indication of the growing sports popularity. Teams making the playoffs after a half seasons play were: The Bomarcs, The Thunderbirds, The Roughies, and the Rock’n’ Rollers. The S.H.B.L. executive is as follows: President - John Crowston Vice Pres. - William Coldwell Sec. Treas. — Gordon Olsvik There are presently 15 teams in the league and the latest standings and captains are: 1) Aces - Grant Ross 2) Thunderbirds - Lorraine Bellegard 3) Rock ‘n’ Rollers — Gordon Olsvik 4) Roughies -Gordon Olsvik 6. Valiants — Virgil Trytten 6) Valiants - Virgil Tytten 7) Twisters - Ben Smith 8) Hot Spots - Fred Dootoff 9) Bomarcs - Bill Calwell 10) Jets - Bill Shordee 11) Mariners - Norman Pulver 12) Marvells - Jerry Pruden 13) Guardians - Joe Kashmarski 14) Specials - Larry Thompson 15) Clippers - Dorothy Mills CURLING D ue to mild weather conditions the 1962-63 curling season commenced on January 7, 1963.
