ass zstofzy In September 1934 a Trlbe known as the Freshmen who yy lshed to search for knowledge assembled for the ftrst time on the border lme of a strange new huntmg ground known as Hlgh School On September 12 Blg Chlef Llghtbody called a councll meetmg for the purpose of electmg leaders Wlr Wlley was chosen counselor Four brayes and malds were chosen to asslst hlm They were Mery ln Tockey PTCSI dent Harold Olson X116 PI'CSlCl6Ilt Margaret Abbott Secretary, and Karl Dreller Treasurer The unfamlllarlty wlth the strange rugged land caused the Freshmen trlbe to make many mlstakes and to lose thelr way about the country They were often late for thelr classes 'md thls caused the chleftam much worry However they soon began to understand thelr POSITION and to gam a more firm foothold As tlme went on the trlbe acqulred more bray ery and was spendmv more tlme huntmg and flshmg for knowledge When the tlme came ln ,lanuary for the electlon of brayes and malds Farrlsh Amos Irene Horkv Dorls Hawkxns and Robert Brass were selected At the end of the year a terrlble massacre took place qome strang creatures called Latm Algebra Engllsh History and SCIENCE Examlnatlons confronted the trlbe These had to be conquered 1n order that the trlbe mlght proceed to the next huntmg ground A flerce battle ensued The majorlty were successful and marched bray ely mto the hlgher huntmg ground where the trlbe was known as the Qophomores Mr Copeland was elected as counselor The bray es and malds from the Qopho more trlbe who asslsted hlm dllflllf' the entlre year were Farrlsh Amos PI'CQld9Ilt Harold Olson V1cePres1clent Mary Probert Qecretary and MCFVIU Tockey Treas urer Even though the paths throush the huntmg ground became more dlfTlCUlt to travel the Sophomore trlbe, wlth thelr weapons of knowledge, fought thelr way through qulte successfully The hay rlde was one of the outstandmg pow wows The trlbe was yery actlye 1n athletlcs dI'3lTll3tlL4 muslc and FFA At the end of the year lt agam became necessary for them to conquer strange creatures known as Engllsh History Geometry and Latm Fxammatlons Howeyer thelr success 1n oyercommg these enemles m the Freshman Huntlng Ground had caused the trlbe to b come bray er and they were soon ready to be promoted to another huntmg ground They were known as the JUIIIOI' Trlbe ln thelr thlrd year ln the huntlng ground Miss Goff was elected as counselor Farrlsh Amos as PI'CQld6'Ilt Harold Olson as Vlce Presldent Roselean Wells as Secretary and Reed Pulliam as Treasurer The outstandmv fall pow wow was the three act play Plam ,lane whlch was presented by some of the junlor bray es and malds ln the January electron of officers Farrlsh Amos Harold Olson Roselean YVells and lxarl Dreller were chosen ln the sprlng a feast called the ,Iumor Senlor banquet was UIXPII The theme for thls was the Plantatlon ldea As ln the other years the trlbe was well represented by brayes and mands ln athletlcs F FA , muslc normal tramlnfr and dramatlcs The success of the trlbe ln conquerlnff the final exammatlons aye them full admlttance mto the last sec tlon of the hugh school huntmg ground After dlsbandlng for three months yacatlon the trlbe avam assembled on August 31 1931 As full fledged Seniors they entered the new terrltory wlth much self assur ance and with determlnatlon to attam the goal they had long antlclpated graduatlon fCOI1llHU8ll lo page 361 Page Twelce Cl . c v .
