Not only is he our teacher but he is our friend. In just a short time this man has gained the respect of many students, especially the students of the graduating class of 1984. This man is a man of love, truth, pride, wisdom, and faith, especially faith in Christ. He has helped us in many ways, when someone feels low he can always pick them up. He has a quality which is hard to describe and which very few people possess. He can make learning enjoyable but at the same time be serious about his work. He is an inspiration to many of us. We the Senior Class of 1984 dedicate the 1984 Sardonian to Mr. Keith Amos. We love you and may God bless. Retired Alfred Johnson Principals Change During Year Sardis High School had a change of principals on October 31, 1983. Dr. Doris Leftwich transferred to Whitesboro Elementary School when Dick Cambell came to Sardis High School to replace retiring Alfred Johnson. Herman McMurtrey, formerly with Attalia School Systems, succeeded Dr. Leftwich. Doris Leftwich Principal’s Message Having graduated from Sardis High School in 1961, 1 find it a great honor to have the opportunity to come back and be a part of the school and community. I know of no greater place to be and of no better people to be associated with than you folks at Sardis. Students, count your blessings and give thanks that you live in such an area of the country as Sand Mountain. I wish the best for you and I know that you can reach any goal that you set for yourself in life, because you have the potential to do so. 4 Herman McMurtrey Jerry Brooks. History Dick Campbell. Their hard work and dedication paid off when it came to band competition. At two different con- tests the flags received superior ratings. The leadership of this corps has been in the able hands of Mary Ann Mosley. We would like to express our most sincere ap- preciation to these girls for adding a special flair to our performance this year. 16 21 Sardis Football Senior Players 22 c o a c h e s Standing Ken Jones Randall Morton Keith Wright Kneeling Jerry Don Sims M a n a g e Chad Jacobs Brett Moon Anthony Walford Jeff Pounds r s 23 Kevin Massey WB Barry Williams Brent Moon Tolleson Idie Holland WB John Hall 24 Mark Maddox Danny Cooper Scott Simmons FB Gary Parish WB Brent Naylor Michael Golden Mitch Foster G Scott Bishop Phillip Battles G Lee Mavo 25 Rabbit Ears!!!
