Dedication of New Building Left to right: Mr. R. C. McCulley, Mr, Frank R. Stewart, Mr. A1 Foxx, Mr. Stewart's son, Mr. RoyM. Whitt, and Mr. T. G. Smith, Jr. In April of 1960 the students of Sardis High School began moving into the new building. This was a long awaited occasion since the erection of the first senior high school building in 1933. Open house and dedication of the new building was held on May 1, 1960. We were fortunate to have with us our first principal, Mr. R. C. McCulley, State Superintendent of Education, Mr. Frank R. Stewart, and Mr. A1 Foxx, Gadsden Times Staff Writer, who participated in the dedication ceremonies. Mr. Roy Whitt, a past member of our local Board of Trustees and now a member of our Etowah County Board of Education, also took part in our activ- ities.
