DABBS County Superintendent of Education THE PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE To All Students of Sardis High School: It is a well known and accepted truth that a foursquare characteris one with a spiritual side, a moral side, a mental side, and a physical side. On the spiritual side square it with Jesus Christ; On the moral side be satisfied with nothing less than the standards set by Christ Himself; On the mental side pursue all the knowledge that you are capable of obtaining; On the physical side strive to keep your body clean, healthy, and wholesome. While Richard Lee is making good at the Motel Cafe, Glenis Brown sells school supplies at Redfords Dime Store. Donald Davis sells magazines for Curtis-Publishing Company and Betty Bruce is cashier at the Buzz Cafe. Willie Barksdale is the president of Super-Tonic Vitamin Co. Betty Brothers and Myra Pullen work for Pan American Airlines. The Armed Services is using a few of our classmates also. Jerry Wiggins is in the Foreign Legion. Grant Brewster is Chief-Bottle Washer for the Navy. Randall Johnson is now the Wrestling Champion of the world. I believe we have some of our friends in the entertainment business. Danny Golden is quizmaster on a TV show, To Tell A Lie. Jimmy Smith is the new singing sensation of the nation. My stars! Martha Presley is the star of the new nightclub in Attalia. Vernon Wofford is making quite a hit in the western series of Have Gun Will Run. Judy Battle is modeling for Fredricks of Hollywood. James Goble is the director of the Red Skelton Show in Hollywood. Freddie Driver is the weight-lifter with the Barney Bros. Circus. Irene Mayo is an honorary member of the Mickey Mouse Club. Elouise Hedgepath is the private secretary for Walt Disney. Charles Washburn has just bought a new car at Keith Scott's car market. Billy Lacks, an attorney at law, just told James Cooper that they had won the case, Cooper vs Sardis. Wayne Burke owns a large chicken farm on the outskirts of Boaz, and Melvin Tidwell is the night watchman at Dobson and Ca John Chumley and his wife owns a large ranch in Texas.
