yearbook 30 Yearbook staff small, but conscientious Last year, when I was asked to be the Editor of this year's Talisman, I had no idea what an awesome responsibility I was taking on. I realized that the job wouldn't be easy, but there was no way of realizing beforehand just how hard it would be. To begin with, the production ofthe yearbook in the past had always been a regular class, just like an English elective. But this year, due to lack of money, the class was cancelled, so most of the work was done either after school or during a free period. A couple people were new on the staff this year, so they had to go through the ordeal of learning how everything is done. ln any type of production like this, the capacity for human error is very big. Film gets ruined, pictures don't come out, people don't show up for pictures, and pages get lost. These are things that you can't control, so you learn to live with them. I think every Editor starts out with stars in his or her eyesg their book is going to be the best book that Saratoga High has ever seen. Along the way, dreams get trampled and reality sets in. Mistakes happen that can't be fixed by the deadline tomorrow, so they slip through. But every book, good or bad, is a culmination of a whole year of hard work, and it should be appreciated for being just that. Staff photographers: Bob Kennedy, Ernie Pacioni, John Kent.
