Takin' care of business The Business Department has been preparing students for life after high school for many years. Here, stu- dent Iearn typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and business law. Along with these elective classes is the Con- sumer Education class, which was an elective until last year, when it was made a requirement for graduating seniors. In Consumer Education, the students learn how to figure their income taxes, how to buy a house or a car, what to look for when they go shopping, and other equally useful bits of knowledge. The purpose of this class is to expose students to consumer problems of today, and to make sure that they know their rights and responsibilities as consumers.
