Music department numbers group What would this world be like without music? Any kind of music, rock, classical, jazz etc. What would we tap our feet too, or snap our fingers to? Just think how it would drive people insane. Music is the greatest thing that ever happened to mankind, it gives us pleas- ure in every way. -Chris Westbrook The music department is probably the largest de- partment at Saratoga High. Not only does it offer many alternatives to the over 500 students involved, but teaches them something which they will retain for a long time. I think most every student who is enrolled in a music class enjoys it. l know I do. -Marybeth Travis The music Department is really great! We have it all together, and as a result, this is probably one of the best years of music Saratoga High has seen so far. I would like to say thank you to Mr. Page, and Mr. Northrup for their time and help.

Early risers filled dance class Getting up at 7:30 in the morning to dance for two hours straight may not be everyone's idea of how to spend two mornings a week. But this year, about sixty girls and two guys not only did it, but most of the time we did it cheerfully. Anyone who was around school at that hour would probably be laughing at the sight of all of us running down to the locker room dressed in only leotards and tights, and sometimes pants. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning l would ask myself if dancing was worth all this trouble. My answer was al- ways the same. Yes, it was worth it. Dancing is much more than a form of physical ex- cercise. Dancing is a way of expressing how you feel, and along with it comes the added bonus of getting and staying in good shape. When I think back on all the fun l had getting ready for the concert, and all of the new friends l met, I feel really good inside. From the first day of class to the last, people cooperated with each other and helped each other with their dances and technique. We all learned so much. l'll never forget the night of the concert. When we were on stage before the lights went up, we could see all the people in the auditorium.
