Teachers and MIKE COSTANZO P.E., J.V. Football JOANNE MALONEY KQ' . 5 n ' , ,',sl' I -5 . - . classes go co-ed This year, Saratoga High School has offered an entirely different Physical Education Program. All courses offered, including competi- tive sports, are now co-educational. lf a girl feels she has the ability to compete on a traditionally all-male team, she is welcome to try out-and of course, vice versa. I have participated in both a session of a class which met during regular school hours and also in the all- new Extended Day Program. These classes are held either in the mornings or afternoons, be- fore and after school. The school plans on offering such things as horse-back riding, bicycling, sailing and many others. I was enrolled in a sport which I found thoroughly captivating, the all-time favorite, Bowling, The bowling class starts at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings the student doesn't attend school until 2nd period. Individual transportation is required and attendance is very important. These classes last two hours and much can be accomplished in this time. I find this pro- gram enjoyable and I'm sure those involved agree. -Shawn Owens Bottom Left, Coach Devine is not aware of his onlooker. Top Right, teachers wait for photographer to leave so they can party on. Bot- tom Right, Don't you think you could have let that gone out, Coach Hanager?

If one were to walk in the small gym on a Tuesday or Thursday- you would find Mrs. Peetz and 62 or so students jumping about everywhere. lt's quite a sight! I-the roaming reporter, asked a number of the future dancers of America a few questions. What is always said in class? I asked. Many replied, 5,6,7,8. A few others were: But, Mrs. Peetz, I don't understand! How's that again? Gosh, I don't know! And my favorite reply, Well, who asked you to talk?! As I watched the late students come in to the small gym, Mrs. Peetz could be heard saying under her breath, Better never than late. The class was rather large this year and one student commented that next year it should number fewer people and have the class go a full year so they could put on two productions. Not everyone knows that dance production meets every Tues- day and Thursday starting at 7:40 and ending at 9:30. I asked one of the gals how she liked having to get up so early and she bluntly re- plied, I hate it. Next year the class will be offered again and I hope that they have an even MORE successful year. -S.B.I. Top Right, Coach Draeger munches on his chips while strolling through the quad. He coaches varsity soccer. And not only that-Rin Tin Tin attends a flea circus and steals the show. Better never than late. You are always welcome in the library. Here you can come to study, to work and to attain peace. You'II notice I didn't say peace and quiet. Talking in soft tones is now condoned, thus making for a pleasant, hasslefree atmosphere. Mrs. Dodge, the other library ladies, and I enjoy nothing more than to be able to look out and see a room full' of beautiful Saratoga High students at work. All of us are here to help you and when we offer to do so, we really mean it. If you haven't been to the library very often, you've missed much that is good at Saratoga High. The academic atmosphere, the warmth, and the eager assistance, offered as well as a readily available sympa- thetic listening ear, not easily found elsewhere, are in abundance here. As you go on to bigger and better things, be assured that we wish you happiness and all that's good in the years ahead. Avalon B. Master, Librarian I have worked in the attendance office now for two years and I enjoy it. I take extractions out to students who need to talk to the dean or Mrs. Ornellas. I file admits, notes and the yellow attendance cards. I've met a lot of people by working here. Diane Koci, Junior Right: Student assistants help in the office.
