The level of achievement by the students allows them to compete successfully with college students in the area of technical illustration. Saratoga High students from the drafting program are in demand for related jobs in industry. Some com- panies come to us and ask for our students because of their broad technical background and the craftsman- ship they possess. The students who go on to higher education are usu- ally given the option to take advanced courses in the drafting area. This allows them to take more advanced training and specialized courses sooner than normal. -Gerald Hansen We are failing to focus on the spiritual resources within us and our universe which were so much a part of the perspective of the founders of this great revolu- tionary process we call the U.S.A. To expect Saratoga High School to swim up stream and provide any kind of beacon light shining on the great ethical principles which can shape men's lives would probably be to ex- pect the impossible. Yet this impossible dream, this small ray of hope is what brings me back on Monday mornings. -William L. Newman Jr.

Activities range from basic skills in language learning Cfun with verbs and grammarj to dis- cussions of literature and culture of Western Eu- rope and the classics. Most of the current staff hold bachelor as well as master degrees in their respective subject matters. Largely enthusiastic toward their classes, the staff enjoys most of Saratoga high schooI's better students. Language classes have compound difficulties as we must make student achieve- ment both a learning experience and hopefully, some fun. Highlights of our program are found in the suc- cess which students have on the Advanced Place- ment exams for which they receive college units for their successful placement in advanced classes at the university level. Hopefully, another highlight and perhaps the most important will be found in the ability to communicate in another language-Porque ya se sabe que nos erforzamos mas! -Mr. Greg Bougerie .9 'W2,,ffll
