C's finish with 7-won 5-lost record When you've played C basketball for three years you get to know a lot of people and three different teams. But, out of all three years this last year has been the best. Every guy on this team put out one hundred percent. Everybody was at every practice. Our practices were not bad at all because everyone was pretty well at ease with everyone else. When we weren't taking practice seriously, we were punished by doing three man weaves. We never learned how to do those properly. Our team ended the season with seven wins and five losses. We were capable of winning more games than we did. Although the re serves didn't play as much as the starters, they all stuck in there and gave us the support we needed. Much of the credit should go to our coach, Mr. George Wightman. He always told us that we were better than the other team Che was rightb and our confidence never faltered. As far as I can see in a league with as many good teams as we played, we had a very good year. I wish the team luck next year. -David Gragnola C Team Captain Despite a disappointing 1-11 season, the D basketball team felt they had accomplished a lot in that they learned a great deal about them- selves, their teammates, and the game of basketball. The team was coached by Mike Kerns, and was led by freshmen Jim Hulme and Brad Gustafson. Derek Bazlen summed up his feelings towards the season when he said, It was a lot of fun, especially the free Zee- mees. Frosh experience rebuilding year We had three weeks to prepare for our first season game-Lynbrook, our new league rival. We went into this game with high hopes and were looking forward to an 8 and 0 year and after our 28-14 defeat by Lynbrook we could still hope for taking the league. We learned a lot from our first game, we learned that we were small and that the most spirited team didn't win the game. Our young coaching staff, Al Elenson, Paul Quickard, Shivelly and Randy Cone, was led by the old man of the group George Thibaut. After our loss to Fremont we were ready to start the season. We lost our first season game to Monta Vista. But hard working quarterback Lyndy Meggs had per- fected a beautiful scramble. With great defensive efforts we were able to beat Lynbrook in our fifth sea- son game 2O-14. After a game against Fremont we finished our season with a 1 and 5 record, and a lot of experience. -John Hauer Wood K Ruf J Stelman M McGllaway BChase Row, M.Anderson, R.Hill, B.McWeeny, M.Riley, M.
