Looking back. This year brought many new activities and more spirit to the class of 1977. From the beginning spirit among us skyrocketted as we strived for togetherness and equality in our last year at Sara- toga. We quickly realized we had no time to waste and that each friendship must be savored. We started our fun filled year with a spaghetti fun night. We tried to earn money through monthly bake sales and scrounged here and there when- ever possible. Selling spirit buttons promot- ed spirit-but 1000- that was way too many! For homecoming we struggled with our first float, and learned that it's pretty hard to make a peace sign out of a VW bug in 24 hours. Our high hopes and determination gave us a fourth place and va tie for the first spirit trophy. At the rallies we proved our strength and seniority by win- ning contests such as marsh- mellow stuffing and peanut pushes. December brought kazoos and the second CCS crown in our high school career. Instead of selling wilted mistletoe, we sat back and made S595 showing movies. During January we organized committees to get the prom and graduation plans finalized. We chose our announcements and the colors for our caps and gowns. With the spring came success and senior slumps. We kept together with one activity after another, our very own senior prom being the highlight of it all at the Palo Alto country club on April 15, featuring Ivory Tower and our senior theme as We may never pass this way again . Afterward we went on to have a marathon, a tennis tournament and more car washes to make money for commencement, and an all night San Francisco bay boat cruise. To many of us this year sym- volized the climax in our minds filled with high school memories, and the special moments we have shared with others. -Adrienne Cordova Andrea Aal Kathy Allard Marlene Anderson Gregg Aanestad Adele Alexander Thomas Armstrong Charles Adams Mary Louise Allen Lori Arnold Jason Adams Hella Anrlnrcnn Simeon Aronson it
