f as W.. fm... League title in sight for Falcons The Falcons enter the new DeAnza baseball league as strong contenders for the league title. The team is made up of many returning veterans and a strong pitching staff. Returning starters of last year include: Rob Snyder: Mike Ward: Mike Lopinag Courtney Smith' Jeff Palacios: Tyler Lawton: and Matt Courtney. The addition of some talented newcomers and frosh- soph standouts, Jim Gragnola, and Ted Rafalovich prompt Coach Costanzo to call this year team, po- tentially the best team since l've been at Saratoga. Varsity softball sports new uniforms In accepting the challenge, we shall dare To search for knowledge, skills and truths to bare To strive for perfection, because we care To find friends, through joys and sorrows we share I thank the Lord for the opportunity to have worked with Saratoga teams. I hope that each athlete I have come in contact with has had at least one success, learned or perfected at least one skill or strat- egy, has made at least one friend and when all is said and done can look back and smile. -Donie Mason The girls' softball team this year had a very bright season, largely due to the enthusiasm of the new coaches Donie Mason varsity, and Noel Jr. Varsity. High hopes for a great season were realized with eight returning varsity players and ten jr. varsity. Donie Mason, with a great coach- ing record, has always produced a winning team, and we had to keep that record. Besides having new coaches this year we had a new field, which makes playing a lot easier. Another great thing was our new uniforms. Playing on the school softball team is a lot of fun, as well as a great experience of learning how to win as well as lose. A new dimension this year is sliding. All we can say is Hey whoo, Los Gatos Com- munity, here we come. We'll all remember this season for all of the good times on the bus, and most of all trying to forget the pain of practice, games, and trying to get up the next morning and roll out of bed. -Aimee Toussaint and Lori Holst
