Varsity Soccer Varsity Soccers Takes the WVAL Title Again Despite the seeming lack of interest by the majority of students this year, the varsity soccer team finished first Cagainl in league play. Long hours of hard work were respon- sible for this achievement which was wit- nessed by a small ibut growing every yearl number of diehard soccer fans. For the second year in a row the defense, comprised of goalkeeper Dave Holtcamp and fullbacks Ron Drake, Rick Giraudo, Jon Lindstrom, and Kevin Vandermate, played an integral part in the team's success. The thrillseekers allowed their opponents only one goal in all of league play. The team could not have been so success- ful had it not been for the scoring efforts of the forewards, notably sophomore Ted Rafolovich, junior Kevin Hamilton and senior Andy Radsal. Even with all of the exceptional players, a winning season was only made possible by the coaching talents of Coach Cliff Draeger, who headed both the J.V. and Varsity teams, Both teams achieved league victory. Frosh-Soph Basketball Frosh-Soph Basketball Inconsistent The frosh-soph basketball team worked very well on occasions. Their problem was inconsistency. The team played remarkably well for a quarter or a half at a time, however, these quarters and halves never seemed to fall in the same game. We lost four games that we most certainly should have won. One of the main reasons for inconsistent games seemed to be a lack of team unity, As individuals the team members were very strong. Players making much improvement throughout the season included sophomores, Worman, Cooley, Chamberlain, and Millerg freshmen, Hansen, Smith, and Oriuega. -Coach Joe Calpin
