Football Directed by Coaches Mike Devine and Don Branzuela the freshman football team had a highly successful sea- son in which they annexed five victories in six games. We had a very fulfilling season and many of these players should boost the varsity program in future years, commented coach Mike Devine. Rod Tiffee quarterbacked the squad that coasted seven excellent running backs. The top backs were Peter Bacci and Rob Orlando who each gained over 100 yards in five of the six games. The other fine backs were Mark Lianides, Dean Yoshida, Cy Tabari, Vince Stuller and Anthony Damore. On the other end of the aerial attack were tight ends Clay Biscarro and Ted Hanson, and wide receivers Mike McWeeney and Jeff Rankan. In summation, one would have to say that Saratoga's future football program appears to be in good shape. OPPOSITE PAGE, TOP RIGHT: Steve Emst CVJ climbs out of a sticky situation. C and D Basketball C Basketball Maintains Real Team Cooperation D basketball, though they only won one game, was not a disappoint- ment to coach Cliff Draeger. Accord- ing to coach Draeger, the players had a lot of fun, and enjoyed partici- pating in the sport. They worked hard, and gave it everything they had. That's what is really impor- tant. The C cagers ended their season with a 7-4 record. Led by captain Tom Armstrong, and spurred on by seniors Tim Smith, and Scott John- son, who was the leading scorer, they had a fairly strong season. lt THIS PAGE,-TOP: Scott Johnson blocks opponent. Many of the games we lost could have gone either way.
