qi rr at ,. Spirit Leaders Spirit Leaders Support thletio Teams. The Varsity and J.V. Cheerleaders and Song Girls went to a new spirit camp held at Stan- ford Campus. They were taught leadership qualities and brought back loads of spirit and enthusiasm, which was reflected through out the year. At camp, all three squads won several superior ribbons based on spirit and newly leamed techniques. The Letter Girls and Flag Girls began the year by rounding out the school spirit and supporting the athletic teams. Many students aren't aware of the long hours the spirit leaders put into the posters for the games and the athletes. Waking up be- fore dawn to hang posters, getting to bed after midnight because of treats for the boys and spending their much treasured Friday nights painting the run-through banner are some of the hard chores that tum into alot of happy hours. Through out the year, the girls did alot to raise Saratoga's spirit and school pride. They got many Freshmen and Upper classmen in- volved in school activities, such as, poster paintings and rallies. These long hours working on new ways to get Saratoga rowdy for the games weren't wasted, but rather united the groups into a very special friendship. At the end of the Football season, the Varsity players expressed their ap- preciation by giving each girl a rose.
