Snow Day Snow Falls in the Suburbs of Saratoga One of the neatest things that happened this year, had to be the day that it snowed. My mom woke me up shouting something about snow. I opened my eyes and turned to my mom saying What,d you put in your wheaties, mom? Who had ever heard of snow in the suburbs of Saratoga. Sure enough it was snowing in Saratoga. I reached school Q10 minutes latel and told my teacher some outlandish story, and he let me leave the class. Once outside I ran to the upper field where snow had completely covered the once green grass. People were running all around throwing snowballs on unsuspecting souls. I picked up some snow and started in on the bombardment of some poor guy. It was so fun, snow in Saratoga! -Helen Rodrigues Vx ig ., -WW! Bill Carney helped out by taping various sets of music to be played over the PA too. Being selected was one of the highest honors I could get in high school. Preparing for the test involved a great deal of work, work which went beyond the normal range of school work. To me, it was like working math puzzles for fun, reading a dictionary. My formal high school education also helped, although the courses in which I actually learned something concrete were relatively fewg math and science. In a purely materialistic sense, my being picked a National Merit Finalist meant that I will be getting a 82,000 scholarship from IBM. Without my high PSAT and SAT scores, I probably would not have been accepted at U.C.L.A. because of my 2.9 grade point average. In the future, I hope to live up to the privilege of being a finalist, and whatever I may do as an adult, I hope it will be for the betterment of the human race. -Ben Oldham ii' alt or Sift W if TOP: National Merit Commended students.
