Fall Musical Guys and Do Guys and Dolls was the first musical ever put on by Saratoga High. The cast was very excited about its production. They put in ten full weeks of hard work. Cathy Clifford played the part of Adelaide, who was a young, professional dancer at the Hot Box. She was in love with a gambler named Nathan Detroit, played by Lance Guest. Sue Parks played the part of a mission doll named Sarah Brown. She fell in love with the well-known gambler, Sky Masterson, played by John Harrington. All four leads per- formed extremely well. The musical showed many different forms of dancing. To set off the show the boys per- formed the number called Good Ol Reliable Nathan . It was a smash hit and put the show fi. in lls ls a Thundering Success on the road. There was also a tap dance. What really made the audience take a second look, was the Hot Box strip-tease number. The most colorful and authentic dance of the show was the cuban dance. The whole cast did a superb job, even though sometimes somebody couldn't find their wig or ballet shoes. Many memories will remain with everyone. Especially those like, 'KHas anyone seen my lipstick? , or Cut the piano playing, it's too noisyli' or the nightly quote, Will all tap dancers not put their tap shoes on, until they are on stage? Over all of the noise, worries, and troubles, there was a feeling in the air of enjoyment, self- satisfaction, and fulfillment. Everyone felt the sense and said they would do it again.
