Seniors Being a senior is a very heavy thing. As a junior I failed to com- prehend my upperclassmates at- titudes toward high school. As a senior I know what it feels like! I am spending my last days as a pro- tected student. In high school we students lead a very sheltered aca- demic career. Our teachers worry about us as individuals, they know our personalities, they become familiar with us as people. The at- tendance office knows our names, our notes, and our absences. Our friends are within yelling distance Bradford Daggy Deborah Daly Denise Daly Audrey Daniel Darlene Davis Douglas Day Melanie Day Annette Defino Tami Demartinis Arthur Destin Sandra Diamont Jan Dies Michael Dillon Joseph DiPietro Steven Dodd Meri Dorff five days a week, six hours a day. We have a Falcon Guide to tell us what we can and cannot do. We are protected, pushed, molded, shaped, loved, hated and dependent on everything. As a senior I have realized that this type of existense is coming to an end. My elementary education has shaped me as much as possible. I am soon to become an individual to fend for myself. To seek further education through college, to seek work, and money, to seek my own life. My problems will be my own 11 sf, -my . :gt we---Q -ff not my parent's or my friend's or my school's. For many it is an omin- ous step to take. Yet it is something I want and desire very much. I love having my freedom. I will succeed at times and I will fail at times-but I will have myself to hold responsi- ble. Ihave been held by our school system long enough. I have had many beautiful experiences and many bad. I have the opportunity to carry with me the valuable things and leave behind me those that were not so pleasant. -Becky Meyers
