The necessity of group co-operation for the advancement of agricultural vocations is emphasized to the members of the F.F.A. Each boy has an opportunity to study planting and harvesting techniques and car- pentry. Our group here at Saratoga also participates in various district Uvestock judging contests. 47

Beta Club The only honor organization at Saratoga, the Beta Club consists of those students who have maintained the necessary academic average. After midterm exams, old members sponsor a school assembly and tap qualified newcomers. Homecoming is planned by this group, and during the winter the versatile Betas, and Miss Bordeaux, sponsor, dis- play their creativity in their annual brunswick stew sale. A one-hundred dollar scholarship is the club’s gift to a deserv- ing senior, and the year is highlighted by the state conven- tion. Leadership . . . Scholarship . . . 48
