PoReWORC) Many dreams and trials are composed in a year. For each person a certain longing or hope is bom every morn, matures during noon, and dies at eve. As in a circus, we are constantly moving about in three rings— the home, the school, and fantasy. This yearbook, the SENTINEL, records the events in the circus ring at school. Circus time! The Big Top, the parade of lions, trumpeting elephants, laughing clowns, prancing horses, beautiful girls, sensational acts, the grand finale! All of this and more. Yet, in the circus, as in school, many hours of training make the difference between a polished performance and a mediocre one. But under the Big Top at Saratoga Central High School, excitement paralleled the training and the hard work— elections, honors, certain seniors riding high, a merry-go-round of club activities, sports and school spirit — all become a part of the performance. One could not take each individual, listing his expectations and his failures, his successes and defeats. The purpose of this book is to present the accomplishments of the student body as a whole. The SENTINEL is a collection of these events, a collection of students, each different, yet essential to the make-up of this school. For each student we hope this annual brings to you the memories of past school happenings that be- come more precious as they end and disappear. And if this annual succeeds as the grand finale of a circus, we are content. 6
