This is only the surface of the annual, but underneath it lies hard work, sacrifices, frustrations, laughter, and pride. The things that happen each day . . . the faces, the places . . . the victories, the defeats . . . the thousands of big and little events— all of these are a part of our lives and the things we shall remember for years to come. We, the staff, hope this yearbook will not only record these events for the present but also serve as a MARY ANN SPEIGHT treasury of memories for the future. A new year • • . A new principal As we go through life, we should all be striving to climb toward some goal. In the past four years, you, the Seniors of 1966, have been striving toward the goal of graduation. In working toward this goal, you have accumulated many important things— knowledge, friends, self-discipline, skills, and habits— all mingled to provide a firm foundation at the foot of your stairs. May you use this accumulation of your past years to continue to climb the stairway of life to even larger, more important goals. Look back, if you like, but keep forever moving step by step toward what you want most to be.
