As we recall the memorable years in science from the time we were freshmen, we recall the teacher who has served as a friend to all, an aid to those in need, and a refresher to those who are disturbed. With his vast intellect, sense of humor, and happy outlook— as well as his ability to solve a problem which has no answer— he helped us to complete four joyous, worth-while years at Saratoga Central. And so, it is with humble appreciation and much pride that we, the Senior Class, dedicate this, our 1966 Sentinel , to Mr. Richard Whitley — a small giant of a man who made a great impression on all of us. He jokes to make the hour seem shorter He won ' t stand for talking or disorder. He knows what he ' s doing, and does what he knows It ' s no easy task, but it ' s the life he chose. A life that he loves, enjoys, and respects Of science and labs and chemistry texts. A good man to lead, a good man to follow Laughing and learning for a good today And a prepared tomorrow.
