Gfass Jhfis ory On September 2, 1954. twenty -six wide-eyed enthusiastic freshmen thronged the halls of Saratoga High School. Never before had we felt quite so important as we did then, because we were at last in high school. Little did we realize how rapidly the next four years would pass, and how soon the end of our senior year would arrive. . Miss Charlotte Bordeaux guided us successfully through an exciting and memorable first year of high school. The end of the year was climaxed in the park with a wiener roast followed by a hay ride. Our Sophomore year found us under the leadership of Mr. Loy Rogers. A few of our classmates had dropped out, leaving us twenty-three on roll. This year seven members of the class were tapped into the Beta Club. Time marched on, and we found ourselves Juniors. We were fortunate to have Miss Laura Frances Johnson as our sponsor. There were now twenty of us. This year was a most exciting one in many aspects: we became champion magazine salesmen. Then we presented our Junior play, BASHFUL MR. BOBBS, which was directed by Miss Bordeaux. Never will we forget those hilarious practices - giggles - and more - giggles! Long will we remember that day we ordered our class rings. Climaxing our Junior year was the en- chanting banquet given in honor of the seniors. The southern plantation theme was carried out at this gala occasion. Sooner than we could realize, we had reached the last milestone of our journey and became seniors. Mk. James Gay was our guide through this wonderful year. The excitement of the year began in Septem- ber when our class rings arrived. Throughout the year there was the busy hustle and bustle of our class at work on its greatest project - compiling the ninth edition of the Sanoca. In the Spring our fancies turned to thoughts of trips and commencement. How eagerly we had an- ticipated our Washington trip; it was everything we had expected plus much more. What fun we had practicing and presenting our Senior play! This, our last high school dramatic endeavor, will always be looked upon with pleasant memories. Juniors, the banquet was delightful; we shall always be indebted to you and to your sponsors for af- fording us such an enjoyable evening. High school days for us are swiftly drawing to a close. As graduation approaches we are happy, yet sad; there are smiles dampened with tears. Soon we shall hear our names being called, and twenty proud hearts will thump excitedly as we parade across the stage and receive our diplomas. Now, we are graduating and will never relive these past years, but I am sure that we will never for- get them. Now in closing, I want to express for the class our sincere thanks to all who have brought us to this year - the year of our graduation. Ann Craft Historian
